Gore Mountain

Big-time skiing, and getting bigger

Skiers and snowboarders who break toward Vermont are missing out on one of the great hidden gems of Eastern skiing. With a 2,600-foot vertical drop (including the connection to the adjacent, recently added North Creek Ski Bowl) and 103 trails, Gore is plenty big. Terrain expansions and lift replacements have added to the appeal. What many experts dig most about Gore, though, are the tree runs: Acres and acres of high-quality glades that range from leisurely glides through the woods to steep, tight, must-focus-now thigh burners. One of the tree runs, Cirque Glades, is among the longest in the East.
