Hollywood Theater

Art Deco theater, Main Street anchor

The latest incarnation of The Hollywood has returned it to its historic beginnings. The original Art Deco building, which has been operating off and on as a theater since being built in 1937, has been remodeled and (heavily) repaired to again be the entertainment center of this little town.  There are now two screens, each with 98 comfortable seats.  There is now a brand new marquee and the theatre is once again a beloved member of our community.

Thanks to the Go Digital or Go Dark campaign, and a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, the Hollywood owners worked in partnership with the Tahawus Center next door to upgrade to digital projection equipment and introduce a new summer film series, featuring the work of independent directors. Together, the Hollywood and Tahawus are leading the economic revitalization of Au Sable Forks.
