St. Lawrence County Dairy Princess Festival

Long-running tradition still a long way from its sell-by date

Agriculture in St. Lawrence County has traditionally been led by the dairy industry – and it remains strong to this day. That heritage is celebrated in the Dairy Princess program, which crowns a farmer’s daughter or another nominee. Several counties in the state participate in the program; one county’s winner is dubbed the state’s Dairy Princess, receiving a scholarship and the opportunity to promote dairy products across the state.
